“Working with textiles for 7 years a new technique ‘painting with threads’ developed. Taking me into the Cotswold countryside and its stunning landscapes to the seas around the British Isles.  It is a technique I find bursting with potential and magical discovery and I can celebrate the changing seasons and the power and majesty of the sea. An understanding of perspective and perception is key to this technique. Images appear from placing threads of cotton, wool, silk, silver, and gold, of sunsets over the water, woodlands at dusk, hillsides and rolling seas. Suggested depth using carefully placed textures and colours encourages the eye to see beyond each line to a surface or landscape our own imagination puts together.

Working this way has become both informative and creatively challenging, bringing together all the years of learning and study.”
